COVID-19 Update: LMBA 2020 Spring Season Cancelled

LMBA Players and Families,

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, Ladner Minor Baseball is cancelling its 2020 spring season. It is our intention to provide full refunds to all registrants. Please allow time for us to establish the process and execution of refunds: this will take some time. Your patience is appreciated.

We will continue to monitor the Canadian and Provincial health recommendations as well as any revised information from BCMBA, Baseball BC and Baseball Canada with regards to any changes to the current suspension of activities. If these restrictions are lifted to a point that will allow us to pursue baseball activities we will quickly respond to any opportunity to salvage what amount of a season we can facilitate.

We would like to thank all of the individuals who have volunteered their time in the planning and organizing of the spring season. We hope to see you all on the diamond in better times soon.

During this time we strongly encourage everyone to be kind to others and remember to share, and help those who may need it. We can all work together to do our part to improve the outcome so together we can get back to our daily lives, our families, our friends, our jobs and our passions whatever they might be. It is recommended that everyone stay up to date with information on Canada’s public health website.

Thank You All for doing your part,

Grant Laidlaw
President,
Ladner Minor Baseball Assn

Indefinite Suspension of Activities due to COVID-19

LMBA Players and Families,

We have just received an update from Baseball BC extending the period of suspension of activities indefinitely. With this development coupled with the Provincial Health recommendation restricting gatherings of 50 persons or more, we will be cancelling our Opening Day Ceremonies previously scheduled for April 4th.

We also have good reason to believe, based on the Baseball BC communication, that the start or our spring season may very likely be impacted by this directive.

We will continue to follow Baseball BC’s lead through this period and will update as further information becomes available. Once we understand the full impact on our spring season we can address the options from there. If it is determined at a point that the season will be cancelled, we will be issuing full refunds, if we end up with a shortened season, we will endeavor to pro-rate registration fees.

As the safety of our players, their families and the community at large is of paramount concern to us all, we must all make every effort to contribute to creating the safest possible environment for all.

Stay tuned for further updates.

Thanks All,

Grant Laidlaw

President,

James Paxton Receives Some Love From Ladner

We are so proud of James for becoming one of the most dominate pitchers in the big leagues and in recognition of his no hitter against the Blue Jays last month we delivered a beautiful card and baseball jersey to let James know that everyone in the LMBA is rooting for him. As a product of Ladner Minor Baseball he is an inspiration to all the boys and girls who love to play the game.
