LHP James Paxton, a product of Ladner Minor Baseball ,was drafted in the 1st round (37th overall in 1st Round compensation A*) of the 2009 MLB First Year Players Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays.  Paxton is a 6'4" Junior and starting pitcher with the University of Kentucky. James is the highest drafted Canadian in this year's draft and highest ever Canadian selected by the Toronto Blue Jays!
